What is a content strategy?

The short answer: A content strategy is the plan for what you publish, who each piece serves, and what job it does in moving strangers toward becoming customers. Without one, publishing is a diary; with one, every piece has an assignment.

The strategy in one sentence

Decide which questions your best customers ask on the way to buying, answer each one excellently at the right depth, and connect the answers so every reader has an obvious next step. Everything else, calendars, formats, channels, is logistics serving that sentence.

The portfolio shape that works

Definitions and quick answers catch early learners and answer engines. Field-note style posts with real numbers build trust and differentiation, because they contain what competitors cannot copy. Comparison pages serve the deciding moment. Money pages close. Our own plan runs exactly this portfolio, and each layer links downward toward the next.

Cadence beats bursts

Search engines and audiences both reward steady output over heroic sprints followed by silence. A sustainable pace maintained for a year beats a launch-month flood every time. The other discipline is measurement: each piece eventually justifies itself in rankings, citations, or assisted conversions, and the ones that cannot get rewritten or retired.

Questions people ask

Less than agencies imply: excellent money pages, honest comparisons, and a few dozen durable answers outperform hundreds of thin posts.

Own the depth on your site, where it compounds and cannot be algorithm-crushed, and repurpose excerpts outward. Rented reach should feed owned assets, not replace them.

Rankings for intended keywords, pages cited by AI assistants, and contact-form submissions that mention what they read. All three are trackable; we wire that measurement in as standard.
